In the Driving Seat
Presented and co-produced by DMM CEO Chris Lynch, In the Driving Seat is a feature-length documentary exploring the future of mobility for disabled people. This BBC commission marked Diverse Made Media's first network co-production, partnering with Belfast-based Triplevision to deliver a Tomorrow's World-style journey across Europe uncovering breakthrough assistive technologies.

From Milan to the Swiss Alps, Madrid to London, In the Driving Seat took viewers inside the innovation labs and testing grounds where the future of mobility is being built today. The documentary showcased technologies that sound like science fiction: exoskeletons enabling people to walk independently for the first time, wheelchairs that climb stairs and navigate mountain terrain, and adaptive sports equipment pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
The production brought together two companies with complementary strengths: Triplevision's factual programming expertise and production infrastructure, and Diverse Made Media's presenter-led vision and inclusive production methodology. As equal partners from development through delivery, both companies shaped every aspect of the documentary—from initial story concept to final edit. The result was a film that balanced technical innovation with deeply human stories, broadcast on BBC Television and BBC iPlayer.
